She's nice, my mum My mum's a fantastic cook, and a brilliant juggler. She's a great painter, and the strongest woman in the world! She's really nice, my mum. This book is a warm, funny tribute to Mum (and to mums everywhere) by the Pages:   If your dad isn’t in your life, Father’s Day is just one of many annual holidays that can cause unresolved emotions to bubble to the surface. I know I’ve thought about contacting my estranged father over the holiday seasons, but even if I had his phone number, contacting him out of the blue feels too emotionally overwhelming.

A maternal insult (also referred to as a "Yo mama" joke) is a reference to a person's mother through the use of phrases such as "your mother" or other regional variants, frequently used to insult the target by way of their mother. Used as an insult, "your mother " preys on widespread sentiments of filial piety, making the insult particularly and globally offensive.   Signed Edition. Sunday Times number one bestseller Joanna Trollope explores the issues at the heart of a modern family with her trademark wit and warmth, in Mum & Dad. 'What a mess, she thought now what a bloody, unholy mess the whole family has got itself into.' It's been twenty-five years since Gus and Monica left England to start a new life in Spain, 4/5(11).

Humourous response to any question where a noun or noun-phrase is expected. See also: Yer mum. My Dad’s a Wrestler! Author: Matt Zurbo. ISBN Format: Paperback. Publisher: Lothian Children’s Books, July This book is perfect for dads to share with their sons. It is humorous and fun, with bold and extravagant caricature-style illustrations. Don't understand some of the comments about the Mum being MY mum and not the big boss, film star etc. The book is actually saying that a mum can be all of those things, but at the end of the day, she is first and foremost a mum - and I agree completely.

Would recommend as a gift to any new mum for her to share with her baby/child or to any child/5(83). Capitalize Mom and Dad as a Proper Noun.

When you're referring to a specific person, you may be using the proper noun form. In this case, you would capitalize the words "mom" and "dad." One easy way to tell if a word is a proper noun is to substitute the word for a person's name.

She's really nice, my mum. A warm, funny tribute to Mum (and to mums everywhere) by the brilliant author/illustrator Anthony Browne. For the last 8 years I have lived away from home and had no idea how bad my mum was suffering from depression.

I moved back to my parents home a month ago and the reality of how bad things are was really shocking. According to my dad things have been like this for ages "it's just how it is""you can't fix it" "just leave her alone".
